There’s a special kind of silence that happens when you tell your child, “Get your shoes.”
Not the productive kind.
Not the “they’re actually looking” kind.
The kind where you already know what’s coming next.
“Mom, I can’t find them.”
So I look around. Shoes are usually where shoes live. By the door. Under the couch. Sometimes in places that defy physics. But this time? Nothing.
And then I see it.
My daughter…
Sitting comfortably.
Focused.
Calm.
Still looking in the iPad.
Not moving.
Not searching.
Not even pretending.
Just scrolling, like the shoes might pop up between YouTube and a game.
That’s when it hit me.
Baby… your shoes are NOT in the iPad.
Parenting has taught me many things. Patience. Humor. Deep breathing. And the realization that kids genuinely believe multitasking includes looking for shoes digitally.
I’m here to share ideas, inspire change, and build a space where everyone feels supported. Together, we can create a community rooted in strength, resilience, and hope—one post at a time. — ItaliStyles 🌐
